The infrastructure at large scale scattering facilities plays the critical role of delivering radiation to the beamlines and end stations ultimately for experimental use. The increasing user needs for nanometer level precision and spatial resolution as well as high temporal resolution put demands on the facilities leading up to the beamline. In particular, the movement of optics in the infrastructure needs to be highly reproducible and the stability of the setup needs to be measured in a noncontact manner that won't influence the measurement. attocube's IDS laser interferometer performs contactless displacement and vibrometry measurements for in-situ analysis of position and stability of components.
