Precision Engineering

engineering & development

In engineering and development laboratories, there are multiple measurement and positioning applications in air or vacuum conditions with the highest requirements on precision and accuracy. In test and experimental setups, components like lenses, mirrors, or filters need to be positioned on the nanometer scale and ideally in a closed loop mode to minimize thermal drifts. During the testing phase of a prototype, the motion of the system and its motion accuracy need to be monitored for defining the official specifications of a product.

Using attocube’s interferometer as a vibrometer for vibration measurements helps designers to validate the construction of a new developed system.

The nanopositioners and interferometers are employed because they achieve the required level of accuracy and are compatible with extreme environments (high vacuum, high/low temperature). The components modularity allows for using the products in various experimental setups.
