CFM Base Kit with trueNAV
Precision. Delivered. Spot On.
Using interferometric technology with external sensors integrated into our ultra-stable microscope housing, we surpass all existing cryogenic position encoder solutions. Our trueNAV system ensures outstanding repeatability across the entire travel range. Refer to our application measurements below for detailed insights on how this solution enhances sample motion precision in confocal applications.
Repeatability
Consistent and verified performance demonstrates a repeatability on single axis of over 95% within 50 nm across the full travel range, rather than a selective measurement at a single position. In 2D, the system achieves a bi-directional repeatability of typically 200 nm, which allows the user to accurately return to any specified point without requiring readjustments for confocal measurements with diffraction limited resolution.
Drift Compensation
Confocal spectroscopy often involves wide-range magnetic field sweeps, such as from –9 T to 9 T. Even with careful selection of materials like non-magnetic titanium, drifts of several micrometers may occur. These drifts can now be minimized with the help of trueNAV using an external closed-loop system.
Compensate for Runouts
Lateral runouts during z-axis focusing at the nanometer scale are addressed by the CFM base kit with trueNAV in closed-loop mode, which maintains accurate focus on the POI. By using an external interferometer to measure and control the sample holder’s position, trueNAV is reducing crosstalk and correcting axis errors that traditionally integrated sensors cannot even detect.
