attoCFM/UHV
ultra-stable, compact confocal microscope, free-beam optics based
:.........................................................................................
attocube systems now offers a UHV-version of a free-beam optics based confocal microscope, the attoCFM/UHV. Based on the attoCFM I, the attoCFM/UHV takes advantage of standard optical components in conjunction with a newly developed UHV compatible objective. The ultra high vacuum compatible CFM offers new research possibilities for optical experiments under ultra high vacuum conditions, such as Raman spectroscopy, optomechanical experiments, and atom/particle trapping. The attoUHVchamber is designed to operate either as a stand-alone or as an add-on tool to existing UHV equipment. The integrated objective holder is suitable for all RMS objectives. The CFM I module is a plug-and play tool mounted onto the chamber in a few seconds. attocube‘s long-term expertise in building optical
microscopes and producing ultra-precise and stable positioning units makes the attoCFM/UHV a superior yet affordable tool, enabling optical research at UHV conditions.
Principle - A laser beam is coupled into a single mode optical illumination fi ber. Part of this light is refl ected at the beam splitter and focused on the sample (free-beam optics inside the cryostat). The refl ected light from the sample is captured by the collection fi ber, which acts as the blocking pinhole aperture when collecting the scattered light from the sample.
